My name is Guilhem, I am a passionate biologist and naturalist. After graduating my masters in Ecology I started working abroad as animal behaviour researcher and nature conservationist in remote areas where the wilderness was astonishing. This lead me to live for long periods in primary forests, in the most basic living conditions, observing animals all day. Seing these pristine undisturbed ecosystems made me realise three things : They are immensely diverse and beautiful ; The difference between these primary forests and other disturbed forests like the ones in Europe is incredible. The third is that they are disappearing in the name of money.
The miraculous biodiversity that lives in such wild biotopes... I thought I had to show it to people at home and pictures seemed like the most obvious way to do so. That is how I started photography and it quickly became a passion and the best way to capture nature's beauty as I see it on the moment. Observing nature, the interactions between species, their social behaviour, understanding the complexity of ecosystems, learning all the sounds and smells, looking for the tiny hidden animal that hide in the landscape... This is what I love to do the most, and that includes taking images of all this.
Genuineness and respect are two very important aspects of my photography and life in general.
Hope you will enjoy !
